As far as the rest of the essay, I suggest an important difference between grassroots activism for an action and leading on morality issues.

I'd like to hear more about your thoughts (not necessarily here--comment sections aren't always great) about the difference you point to. My initial reaction is agreement with where I think you are pointing. But I'd like to know more. Some policy action, it seems to me, are inherently in morality realm. Maybe most?

Yeah there's definitely a wide blurry line about where the morality comes in to play with policy, and I would bet it varies by person.
